Kate McCarthy has produced life stories for over sixty families and their future generations during the eight years she has worked as a personal historian with Forget Me Not Life Stories. Kate has drafted stories from interviews, edited self-written manuscripts, and compiled legacy books across New Zealand. Most recently she has helped well-known local historian and previous mayoress, Pat Flynn of Featherston, to complete her life story titled: A Life Well Lived – Recollections of a Teacher and Mayoress in South Wairarapa. Previously, Kate interviewed another Wairarapa local, Jim Simmons, and drafted his life story book, A Local Lad. Prior to her work in this field, Kate worked as a communications specialist and journalist in New Zealand and abroad.
